Dr. Petr Spurek was born 1965 in the Czech Republic and obtains both the czech and german nationality.
He started his university career 1987 in Budapest (Hungary) and continued at the universities in Würzburg (Germany) and Prague (Czech Republic) until 1995,when he completed his studies.
In 1998 he defended his thesis about "short term results of arthroscopic replacement of the anterior cruciate ligament with middle third patellar tendon" and qualified CUM LAUDE.
During his postgraduate education in orthopedic surgery and traumatology has been trained in various hospitals of Charles university of Prague,the university hospital Carlos Haya in Málaga (Spain) and the Hessing Clinic II in Augsburg (Germany). From 2002 until 2005 he has been assistant medical director of the department of Foot and Ankle surgery of the Hessingpark - Clinic in Augsburg (Germany).
From January 2006 until August 2009 he was responsible for the departments of Foot and Ankle Surgery and Sports medicine at the Hospital International Xanit in Benalmádena (Spain).
Since June 2007 he is the medical director of the Foot & Sports Clinic Marbella (Spain).
Starting in 2003, Dr. Spurek is continuously participating at international congresses, instructional courses and work shops throughout Europe as invited lecturer and teaching professor for Foot and Ankle surgery.
In 2004 he received the highly recognized fellowship at the Foot and Ankle Center professor Pisani in Torino (Italy).
Since 2006 he is member of Council of the Czech Foot and Ankle society.
Dr Spurek dedicated himself to high level athletic sports,having been the number one of his country in both Squash and Windsurfing and representing the Czech Republic in both sports at several european and world championships.
He also has been the national team coach of the Czech Republic in Squash from 1994 until 1996.
